The short version: the ZIP code and dollar amount you type into a calculator on this site never leave your browser. Everything below explains what does get collected, and by whom.
Both tools on this site, the ZIP lookup and the state table, run entirely as JavaScript in your browser. The ZIP-to-state map and the rate table are loaded once with the page. Typing a ZIP code or a purchase amount triggers a calculation on your device; nothing is sent to a server, logged, or stored anywhere by us. Closing the tab clears it.
The contact page is the one place on this site that transmits anything you type. It uses a third-party form processor, Web3Forms, to deliver your name, email, and message to our inbox by email. We use that information only to reply to you, and we don't add it to a mailing list.
We use Google Analytics to see which pages get visited and roughly how, so we know which guides are worth expanding. It sets its own cookies under Google's policies. You can block it with a browser extension or your browser's tracking settings without affecting how the calculators work.
This site runs ads through Google AdSense. AdSense and its partners may set cookies to show ads that are more relevant to you, based on your visit here and elsewhere. You can turn off ad personalization in your Google account settings, which stops the personalization without blocking ads outright.
We don't sell data, because we don't collect enough of it to sell. We don't require an account, a login, or an email address to use either calculator. We don't run affiliate links or earn a commission on anything you click from this site.
